Granule loss
Hail knocks the protective granule layer off asphalt shingles. The bare spots accelerate UV degradation and shorten the roof's life by years.
MDC Roofing / Storm Damage
Hail, wind, and severe weather can leave damage that isn't visible from the ground. Our field reps inspect your roof and attic in person, document everything, and work directly with your insurance adjuster.
In-person inspection with drone photography — not a satellite estimate.
MDC Roofing / Hail damage
Houston sits in one of the most active hail corridors in the country. A storm that looks minor from the street can leave hundreds of impact points on your shingles — each one a future leak. Our field reps document every hit with close-up drone photography and a hands-on roof walk.
Hail knocks the protective granule layer off asphalt shingles. The bare spots accelerate UV degradation and shorten the roof's life by years.
Impact bruises weaken the mat beneath the surface. They're invisible from the ground but show up clearly on a close-up drone photo and under a trained hand.
Larger hailstones crack shingles outright. Water enters the crack, reaches the decking, and causes rot and interior damage over time.
Metal flashing, pipe boots, and ridge vents take direct hits. Dented or displaced flashing is a common entry point for water that satellite images miss entirely.
MDC Roofing / Wind damage
High winds lift shingle edges, break the adhesive seal, and peel back sections that look intact from the street. A field inspection finds lifted shingles, missing tabs, and compromised ridge caps before the next rain turns a small problem into a major repair.
Wind breaks the factory seal strip. Unsealed shingles flap in the next storm, letting water underneath and accelerating further loss.
Fully missing shingles expose the underlayment or decking directly to rain. Even a single missing tab can allow water infiltration.
The ridge cap takes the highest wind load on the roof. Damaged or missing ridge caps are a leading cause of attic moisture and interior leaks.
Wind-driven debris and lifted gutters can pull fascia boards loose, creating gaps where water enters the roof edge and soffit.
MDC Roofing / Insurance claims
Filing a storm damage claim is straightforward when your documentation is thorough. MDC's field reps produce a complete damage report — photos, measurements, and written findings — that gives your adjuster everything they need to process your claim accurately.
Your field rep inspects the roof, attic, gutters, and flashing. Drone photography documents every impact point and area of concern.
We produce a written report with photos and measurements. You receive a copy. Your adjuster receives the same documentation.
Your MDC rep is available to meet your insurance adjuster on-site and walk through the findings together, so nothing gets missed.
Once your claim is approved, we schedule the replacement or repair. GAF-certified installation with a written warranty.
MDC Roofing / Why MDC
MDC Roofing has operated in the Greater Houston area since 2002. We're here before the storm and after the claim.
Fewer than 2% of roofing contractors hold this designation. It means verified installation quality, proper insurance, and ongoing training.
Every inspection is in-person with drone measurements. We don't quote from a satellite image — we document what's actually on your roof.
If your claim doesn't cover the full scope, financing through GoodLeap and Foundation is available, subject to credit approval.
